Our Universe: first one of seven

Hubble Deep Field:

"Hubble's law of the expanding universe- Hubble's brilliant observation was that the red shift of galaxies was directly proportional to the distance of the galaxy from earth. That meant that things farther away from Earth were moving away faster. In other words, the universe must be expanding."

Takes you into the dark corner of the sky to show galaxies like our own near and developed, far and ancient in time. The distance and expansiveness of the universe is immense, and yet expanding faster ever more.

Their are 100-200 Billion Galaxies in our Universe-

The Sombrero Galaxy (also known as Messier Object 104, M104 or NGC 4594) is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Virgo found 9.55 megaparsecs (31.1 million light-years) from Earth. The galaxy has a diameter of approximately 15 kiloparsecs (49,000 light-years), 30% the size of the Milky Way.

Our Galaxy, The Milky Way:

Our Galaxy, The Milky Way, has 100 thousand million starts. It is 100,000 light year across, which takes light 100,000 to traverse our galaxy.

It would take a jet 200,000 year to get to Alpha Centauri, the closest start to us, which is 4.37 light years away.

Planetary Nebula:

It is created when a star blows off its outer layers after it has run out of fuel.

A ring Shaped Nebula formed from expanding shell of gas around the aging star.

Dense clouds where stars are produced, in the spiral arms of the galaxy.

large stars 8-15 the size of our sun, Supernova large stars 8-15 the size of our sun. Supernovae add enriching elements to space clouds of dust and gas (Nebula), further interstellar diversity, and produce a shock wave that compresses clouds of gas to aid new star formation. But only a select few stars become supernovae.

Red Giant:

Our Sun and average size stars will become planetary nebulas. First becomes a red giant then sheds its outer layer & becomes a white dwarf. It will encompass the orbit of the earth within it when it expands as a red giant.

Our solar system's:

Our solar system consists of our star, the Sun, and everything bound to it by gravity — the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, dwarf planets such as Pluto, dozens of moons and millions of asteroids, comets and meteoroids.

Earth’s Magnetic Field:

A shield against solar flares and harmful radiation.
